This year I was part of the stake pioneer day committee to celebrate July 24th's Pioneer Celebration. It's amazing what a good group of organized people can accomplish. We pulled off a fun "fair" type event for hundreds of people. I was part of the talent committee and given the specific assignment of directing a mini-play of my choice with the youth. We did ANNIE. For only one week before the celebration we met daily for 3 hours and practiced. These young people are truly talented. My group of kids actually ended up being the cast for BEAUTY & THE BEAST and THE LITTLE MERMAID. They were FANTASTIC! Mandy, Lucas and family came with us.
Jacob played Moonlight Sonata during the piano performances, he did so well. I was so proud of him and in true dramatic form, had flashbacks to years of piano lessons and learning that very song. He seriously was ill before performing, with nerves, but he sounded like a pro when he played. Some people couldn't believe he was only 10 years old playing so well.
